Vol 18, Issue 16
We are delighted to share that we will be temporarily closing the Properties Relief Fund set up for the immediate needs of Bosch Bahá’í School in California. We have reached the $250,000 threshold for the repairs, including the high out-of-pocket deductible required on this property. We wish to express our gratitude to the sacrifice and generosity of the numerous friends who have contributed towards this Fund.
The figure for the Shrine of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá was incorrectly reported on some issues of the Treasurers Notes. As of last issue, Volume 18, Issue 15, the number for the Shrine of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá accurately reflects the contributions made from the American Bahá'í community.
Planned giving plays a significant role in supporting the National Bahá’í Fund. One of the options available for making a contribution is through the IRA Charitable Rollover. This popular consideration allows believers age 70 ½ and older to make a direct transfer from their Traditional IRA to the National Spiritual Assembly for an amount not to exceed $100,000 per year as a non-taxable event.
