Disaster relief and humanitarian options for giving

With recent tragic events, we thought it timely to provide updated information about both the Humanitarian Fund and disaster relief options for giving. For information on creating a Humanitarian Fund, please click here

To give a general (or non-earmarked) contribution, the friends can use the Online Contribution System to give directly to an affected Local Spiritual Assembly (if that Assembly is enrolled in the Local Fund Online program). They can also call or send in a check and earmark it for 'Disaster Relief Fund', or give directly to a worthwhile organization, such as the Red Cross.

Local Spiritual Assemblies and registered Bahá'í groups are encouraged to periodically review guidance provided in Guidelines for Local Spiritual Assemblies: Developing Distinctive Bahá'í Communities regarding emergency preparedness (found in chapter 3) and disaster response (found in chapter 14). Guidelines for Local Spiritual Assemblies is available on the National Spiritual Assembly’s national member services website here.
