Bahá'í Treasurers Bulletin to be shared

Lifeblood logo"It is suggested that ways and means be found to make the Nineteen Day Feasts more interesting and a source of inspiration to the friends. For example, Local Assemblies might be assisted in devising more interesting and informative ways of presenting the needs of the Fund. . . . The Treasurer's Report should be an exciting and stimulating part of each Nineteen Day Feast, and it would certainly be helpful if the local Treasurer had up-to-date information on the status of the National Fund."

(Letter from the Universal House of Justice, dated October 27, 1964, to a National Spiritual Assembly)

We find this quote very inspiring for our work in the Office of the Treasurer and it motivates us to create the Bahá'í Treasurers Bulletin (BTB) to help aid you in your work. Our hope is that each Feast you share the contents of the BTB with your fellow community members in order to connect their hearts more deeply with the Funds of our Faith. If you have a larger community that has neighborhood Feasts, we encourage you to choose a treasurer's representative for each Feast to give the Treasurer's Report on your behalf, including sharing the Treasurers Notes with the attendees of the Feast. Did you know that about 65% of communities utilize the Treasurer's Notes to educate their community? We hope you will too.

Feast letter from our National Treasurer

Lifeblood logoDearly loved Friends,

We are pleased to highlight this month's Feast letter, which is from our National Treasurer, Juana C. Conrad. We commend it to your thoughtful consideration and consultation with your fellow believers. Click here to view it. We urge all local treasurers to facilitate a consultation at Feast about this important letter.

In addition, we encourage you to show the videos available from the Office of the Treasurer to your community during the Treasurer's Report at Feast. A great one to start with is "The Life of Your Contribution" Part 1. It can be found at this link

If your community feels inspired to hold a fundraiser for the National Fund, a fundraising packet can be found here to assist you.

With loving Baha'i greetings,

Office of the Treasurer

Moving Towards the Goal

Lifeblood logoDearly loved friends,

As you can see from the Treasurer’s Notes, as of the month of December the National Fund has received $14.6 million toward a goal of $31 million. The National Spiritual Assembly is heartened and humbled to recall the record-making contributions received in the months of October and November and, although December did not break a financial record, we continued to see an increase in participation. Equally encouraging are the numerous stories from the friends of the tremendous acts of sacrifice they have undertaken as a community and as individuals to give all they can out of love for our Faith and a desire to see it grow.

As we look forward with renewed confidence in the undoubted capacity of the steadfast believers in this blessed nation to raise the $16.4 million needed in the next four months to win our National Fund goal by Ridván, we are reminded of these words by the Universal House of Justice:

“Contributing to the Fund is a service that every believer can render, be he poor or wealthy; for this is a spiritual responsibility in which the amount given is not important. It is the degree of the sacrifice of the giver, the love with which he makes his gift, and the unity of all the friends in this service which bring spiritual confirmations…”

(Universal House of Justice, Compilations, Lights of Guidance, p. 249)

As grass-roots stewards of the “lifeblood of the Cause” we rely upon your invaluable assistance to the National Spiritual Assembly by helping the believers in your community to receive the inestimable spiritual bounties gained through support of the Fund and to advance your local community through the dynamic power generated by universal participation.

We eagerly look forward to hearing your stories of sacrifice and victory as together we gather the material means so necessary to meet our National Fund goal and advance the Five Year Plan.

With loving Baha'i greetings,

Office of the Treasurer
